Hi.
This is my portfolio. Take a look at what I design, where I've worked, and what I'm looking for in my next role.

Who I am
My name is Michal Podskoč. UX/UI designer with six years of experience designing digital products in fintech and mobility.
Studied marketing communication in Nitra, worked at Sygic as UX/UI Designer, and today I design products at Slovenská sporiteľňa.
I enjoy talking to users, understanding their needs, and turning insights into clear and meaningful design. I believe in simple experiences that feel natural — with a small touch of humor when it fits.

- End-to-end product design — from research to shipped UI
- Design systems built to scale, not just to look good
- Collaboration with devs — I care how things are actually built
- Talendly — HR platform designed end-to-end over 6 months
- Svet Dverí — full design system + brand identity from scratch
- Daily banking features used by thousands at SLSP
My work
Redesigned the UI for a Slovak door configurator — clean product pages, configurator interface, and a consistent visual language across the entire product.
Built a complete design system from scratch in Figma — component library, token structure, and developer handoff documentation for a live production product.
Delivered a production-ready design system and UI used by the client's development team to ship the live product.
UX consulting and concept work for an HR platform connecting companies with freelance talent — translating product ideas into early UX screens and flows to show how things could work.
Designed a clean, professional UI for the platform — dashboard, job cards, candidate profiles, and a messaging interface.
Built a scalable design system in Figma using Tokens Studio — multi-brand ready, with clear documentation and developer-friendly structure.
Confidential freelance project. Full details available upon request under NDA. The work covered UI design and design system for a product in the digital services space.
UI design covering key screens, interaction states, and a coherent visual language — confidential details available on request.
Scalable design system delivered alongside the UI — component library, token structure, and usage documentation.
Confidential freelance project. Full details available upon request under NDA. Work focused on UI design and a reusable component library for a client product.
UI design for core product screens — visual language, layout system, and interaction patterns. Confidential details available on request.
A full component library built in Figma — covering atoms, molecules, and organisms with proper variant and state management.
@ Slovenská sporiteľňa
Designing pixel-precise UI for retail banking apps and internal tools used by millions of customers and hundreds of employees across Slovakia.
Designing end-to-end user flows and interaction logic for retail banking products. Working closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into clear, usable experiences.
Contributing to the bank-wide design system — not leading it, but actively helping shape it. Adding components, flagging inconsistencies, and making sure the things I design feed back into the shared library.
@ Sygic
Working as part of the UX team on a global navigation platform with 200M+ downloads — covering consumer apps, web, e-shop, and B2B products.

Where do we go from here?
Why freelance?
I work full-time at Slovenská sporiteľňa and take on selected freelance projects on the side. Not out of necessity, but because working across different industries and teams keeps me sharp and pushes me to grow.
I am not chasing volume. I am chasing the kind of work that challenges me, forces me to think differently, and actually moves things forward.
- 🏋️ Strength training — regularly, consistently, no excuses
- 🏃 Cardio — running and interval training as a mental reset
- ⚽ Football — play recreationally, follow it seriously
- 🎮 Games & tech — always curious about how things are made
- ☕ Coffee & conversations — the best feedback happens outside the office
- 📖 History — especially Slovak history and the SNP era
- 🎬 Životy slávnych — YouTube channel I follow religiously
What I want
I want to design things that matter. Not just ship screens — but actually understand the problem, be close to real users, and see the impact of what I build.
- Hard design challenges where the solution isn't obvious
- Seeing real people use what I designed — and it actually helping them
- Work where design has measurable consequences, not just aesthetic ones
- Products that solve real human problems — not just business ones
- Ideally: something in healthcare, safety, or civic tech — design that saves time, reduces friction, or saves lives
- Teams that take user research seriously and design from evidence

You went through the whole thing. The work, the process, what I want — and you're still here. That probably means we're a decent fit.
I am not looking for just any project. I am looking for the right one. If something clicked while you were reading, let's talk about it.
